GFA: 48,000 sqm
The most important square in Rostock, the New Market, shall finally be completed again after 60 years of vacancy in the north-eastern part of the square. Our design adds a statement for contemporary urban shapes and uses to the existing pattern of equally clear medieval and 20th century urbanity while maintaining the traditional density and individuality of the hanseatic city at the same time. The demand for retail is met with a shopping mall that embraces the intersecting tram with its ramped malls thus unlocking basement and 1st floor and leading to a new, attractive square framed by buildings with public uses, offering views on the Warnow River. The southern part of the area is developed with townhouses for residential use.
